The influence of Theranekron® on glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity in rat ovaries, intact and with ischemia-reperfusion injury

The effect of Theranekron® on rat ovaries was evaluated in healthy and ischemia-reperfusion injury models. rats were divided into four groups: group 1: control, 2: (single dose 0.3 mg/kg intraperitoneally), 3: torsion + detorsion, 4: detorsion 0,3 mg/kg, intraperitoneally). homogenized by sonication before the analysis supernatant glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity, reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, glutathione total protein levels spectrophotometrically. Ovary tissues histologically examined. In 2, activity significantly (P<0.01) compared to control an increased number atretic follicles, hyperaemic haemorrhagic regions seen histologically; 3, although not changed, intense hyperaemia hemorrhage observed veins medulla region cortex. Group 4 showed a decrease (P<0.01). Histologically, when fewer follicles decreased ovaries, excluding region. There no significant differences regarding phosphate between groups. applied had some negative effects, such as hyperemia corpus luteum intact ovaries. Although it may have slight remedial effects with injury.
